I’m incredibly excited to be making plans for my first solo show – an exhibition at ViewPoint Gallery this April that will be called Pollinator Garden.
My partner and I have small garden at our place in suburban Halifax. Every year I look forward to all the tiny creatures that visit our yard.
My photo catalogue contains what must be thousands of pictures of monarch butterflies, caterpillars, wild bees, and other flying and buzzing life – almost all of them taken within a few feet or short walk from home.
My favourites among these photos are the foundation for the show.
Expect a wall of colourful insects and bird life all larger than life.
More than anything, my show is intended to be a celebration of the extraordinary diversity of living that can be nurtured even a small patch of wildflowers – and the critical importance of these often overlooked creatures to a healthy planet.
